Right now, the bookstore is still not saved through the Ground Breaking legislation. The advocates are currently doing all they can to raise money to try and buy back the building. This building is more than just a bookstore, its a part of our history and a part of the fact that as African Americans continue to leave San Francisco, it reminds us that we were here, were still here and well continue to be a part of the community and by retaining a landmark status from marcus bookstore, it just really sends a message that well continue to work to do
