Windows 10-powered desktops or laptops are among the most commonly used by various companies and organizations. However, Microsoft software still has some flaws that could greatly affect user experience.

Right now, some rumors claim that Windows 10 is suffering from a bug that will annoyingly use up all your free space. This could cause a PC software s hard drive to fill up quite quickly, especially if users install a bunch of online games and other programs.

Windows Defender on Windows 10
A recent Microsoft Defender, also still referred to as Windows Defender, has caused some devices to be filled with unnecessary files with a size between 1 and 2 Kilobytes.
While Microsoft has remained completely tight-lipped on a whole thing, a report from German site DeskModder points to several discussions on the company’s support forums where users are complaining that their Windows 10 devices ended up with thousands of mysterious files stored at the following location:
C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows Defender\Scans\History\Store
By the looks of things, all files are placed there by the antivirus, and one users claims they ended up with close to one million files at the aforementioned location.

If you’ve found your system running unexpectedly short of storage space over the past couple of days, then Windows Defender could be to blame.
Some users report that the bug has led to hundreds of thousands and even millions of files being generated by the security software, taking up gigabytes of storage space.
The problem affects systems that use Windows Defender as the default security solution and appears to be caused by engine version 18100.5. The problem has reportedly been addressed in 18100.6 and you can check to see which version of Defender you’re running by going to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Security > Open Windows Security > Settings > About.
