Jeremy Clarkson has denied he has been axed as the host of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? after ITV earlier said there are no further commissioning commitments to the presenter.

A petition urging ITV not to sack Jeremy Clarkson from Who Wants to be a Millionaire? following his controversial column about Meghan Markle has now reached more than 34,000 signatures. 

Jeremy Clarksons column in The Sun about Meghan Markle led to more than 25,000 Ipso complaints. The Grand Tour and Clarksons Farm are both set to be cancelled by Amazon.

Around 11,000 people have signed the online petition, which claims that the negative reaction to Clarksons column has been completely disproportionate.

The petition claims Clarksons punishment is already completely disproportionate to the crime, adding being sacked by ITV would compound his humiliation.

Carolyn McCall, who is CEO of the firm, stuck the boot into the Who Wants To Be A Millionaire host as the channel weighs up whether to renew his contract.

The streaming service is set to cut ties with the 62-year-old following his controversial column on the Duchess of Sussex, sources said.
