“We’re introducing people to our content who wouldn’t have experienced it any other way,” says Laura Durham of PBS Utah.

“¿Quién Are We?” is about “how our identities sort of shape who we are and what we do,” says Luis Antonio Perez, lead producer.

“We are no longer able to sustain support of In the Dark and we are immediately beginning to explore opportunities to find a new home — either for the entire enterprise, outside of APMG or for the talented journalists, within APMG,” a spokesperson said.

In addition to the cuts, the EP of CIR's "Reveal" has also left the organization.

“This is really the first step in the next 50 years of NPR,” said CEO John Lansing.

The project tells the stories of Massachusetts residents who are facing eviction amid an increasingly expensive housing market.

Sixteen stations have received grants for screenings, trainings and panel discussions tied to the documentary.

The project is a collaboration among WXPN, WRTI and REC Philly, an incubator and agency that provides local artists with business advice and spaces to create.

Over the past 50 years, NPR and stations have made incremental changes to the newsmagazine to keep up with changing times. Why aren’t those conversations happening again now?
