A fourth suspect has now been arrested and charged in connection with the Dec. 6 stabbing of an off-duty police officer in Scarborough.

A 48-year-old Toronto man has become the fourth person arrested and charged in connection with the stabbing of an off-duty police officer who tried to intervene in a retail robbery in early December, according to Toronto police. 

One suspect is outstanding while three others have been charged in connection with a daytime theft and stabbing of an off-duty Toronto police officer.

Torontos police service says one of its officers was stabbed during an alleged theft at an east-end store and one of the four suspects involved remains at large.

Toronto's police service says one of its officers was stabbed during an alleged theft at an east-end store and one suspect remains at large.

A 47-year-old Toronto man is facing numerous charges after he was chased through the city by police cruisers and a police helicopter on Wednesday until he was forced to stop.

An off-duty police officer and security guard pursued the suspects but were "pepper sprayed" as they fled the scene in a small white sedan.

Toronto police say an off-duty officer has been injured trying to intervene in a retail robbery at Scarborough Town Centre on Wednesday.
