Meta Explains How Its AI Decides Your Facebook and Instagram Algorithm: The tech company testing tools to give users more control over what they see on the platforms.

It was intended to compete with the forthcoming headsets from Meta (formerly Facebook) and Apple. However, recent reports suggest that Google has decided to halt the development of glasses-shaped AR devices

The AR glasses codenamed Project Iris is no longer a tech Google wants to pursue. Google's alleged AR glasses, codenamed Project Iris, were reportedly canceled by the company which has given up on its efforts to develop the supposedly new wearable.

Project Iris promised subtitles for real life and had only been showcased by Google last year.

It may be looking to team up with a partner instead.

Google AR glasses will not be launching anytime soon as the company ends the project and shifts attention to other areas.

The report, which comes from Insider, claims that Google canceled Iris earlier this year following mass layoffs and the exit of the company's AR/VR chief, Clay Bavor....

The product could have potentially become a rival for Apples Vision Pro.

Last January, we revealed that Google was also building an AR headset - "Project Iris" would be the company's bet against the then-to-be-announced headgear

While Google may have cancelled its upcoming AR headset, the company seems to be working on a new 'micro XR' platform for AR glasses.
