Monroe County medical officials discuss COVID-19 impact, vaccinations

In hopes of encouraging COVID-19 vaccinations, Monroe County Community College, the Monroe County Health Department and ProMedica Monroe Regional Hospital hosted a special panel presentation Friday regarding vaccination efforts. The program, The Importance of Being Vaccinated - A Presentation by Health Officials took place via Zoom, as has been common for public meetings and webinars during the pandemic. The program was scheduled amid a spike in COVID-19 cases across Michigan and Monroe County that has picked up national attention; efforts by state and local health officials to ramp up vaccinations for Michigan residents age 16 and older; and the reorganization of supplies because administration of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine is temporarily paused.
