A team of international astronomers led by Portuguese researcher João Faria has found evidence of a third planet orbiting Proxima Centauri, the closest star to our Solar System.

The Clauder Competition submission window closes March 31.

The newly discovered planet, named Proxima d, orbits Proxima Centauri at a distance of about four million kilometres, less than a tenth of Mercurys distance from the Sun.
