KABUL (Pajhwok): Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA) spokesman Zabihullah MujahidĀ on Thursday pushed back at international criticism of public punishments, calling it lack of respect
Afghanistan's ultra-conservative Taliban leadership has announced what it says is the first public execution that has taken place since its return to power.
The Taliban on Thursday termed the international criticism over its public execution "reprehensible" and "interference" in Afghanistan's internal matters, Voice of America (VOA) News reported.
The report underscores the intentions by Afghanistan's new rulers to continue hard-line policies implemented since they took over the country in August 2021 and to stick to their interpretation of Islamic law, or Sharia.
