A lot of the questions i had have been answered already, so i would just say that i applaud the chairman for putting forward the proposal he has in terms of congress waiting in on an ultimate agreement. I hope that we are sensitive to these negotiations. I do believe, as many of us have discussed, if this jpoa were to continue in perpetuity, it would not be a bad thing. As long as that breakup time is significant enough and iran isnt progressing towards a Nuclear Weapon that is what our goal should be. I hope that we can stick with these negotiations. I hope that they are fruitful in the end, but im certainly willing to play as constructive a role i can as a member of this committee to make sure that happens. Thank you, senator. Senator cowans. Thank you for holding this hearing and the constructive relationship you and our Ranking Member have had. I support the administration

Its in some ways the most ambitious project that existed to try to remake, you know, National Identities into something larger. You know, sort of european identity of the notion that theres not just greeks or italians or spaniards but this european identity. If you take a look at the most parliamentary elections you discovered the exact opposite occurred. Essentially you have actors on the far left and far right. Both of which are within europes boards and outside of europes boarders doing relatively well. Test test we should work with allies, we should share burdens and national problems. This isnt a new view. People have long thought that we should share global burdens, it just seems to be at a much higher level than in the past. Does too much in terms of solving the worlds problems, and 17 says we do too little. If you ask elites, and these are cfr members, 41 say we do too little, 21 says we do too much. Thats a huge divide between elites and the public. And if you look at sort of Public Priorities where people think our foreign policies should be directed, the divide is even larger. This was sort of fascinating to me. The number one concern among americans and also generally among elites is terrorism. So there is broad consensus among both groups that we should focus on defending another terrorist atta
