Puducherry MP urges Union finance minister to defer instalment of loans | Puducherry News

V Vaithilingam PUDUCHERRY: Congress Lok Sabha member V Vaithilingam has urged Union finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman to allow deferment of instalments of loans availed by people employed in micro, small, medium industries and also self-employed people as they have lost their income due to lockdown imposed to prevent the spread of Covid-19. In a letter, the MP urged the minister to allow extension of the moratorium for payment of interest for a six-month period for the people who availed loans. Vaithilingam also requested her to defer the payment of advance tax (income tax paid in advance for the income earned in a particular financial year) from the first quarter to the second quarter of the fiscal year 2021-22 due to this unprecedented situation.

Representative image PUDUCHERRY: The Election Commission of India has made elaborate arrangements to announce the early trends and the final results of assembly elections in the Union territory of Puducherry and four states besides byelections, said Puducherry district collector and district officer Purva Garg. The commission will update the round-wise trends of each constituency every few minutes and announce the results on its website https://results.eci.gov.in and through the mobile application Voter Helpline’. The counting of votes in Puducherry will commence at 8am on Sunday at three centres in the Puducherry region covering 23 assembly constituencies, a centre at Karaikal covering five constituencies and a centre for Mahe and Yanam each covering one constituency each.
