Pueblo fatal accident near US Highway 50 bypass victim identified

The Pueblo County Coroner identified the victim of a Thursday fatal car crash at the U.S. Highway 50 bypass with I-25. The victim was identified as Richard Leroy Miller, 83, of Pueblo who died as the result of his injuries sustained in the crash, said Pueblo County Coroner Brian Cotter. Miller was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. An autopsy is scheduled to confirm cause of death, Cotter said.  According to the Pueblo Police department, the vehicle involved in the accident went off the north side of the bypass and careened down the hill, ending up on the frontage 

Pueblo Police probe homicide after Easter morning shooting left 1 dead

Pueblo Police are investigating a homicide of a 44-year-old Pueblo man which occurred during the early morning hours Sunday near the intersection of McCulley Avenue and Cedar Street. According to Capt. Tom Rummel, police were called to the scene at 1:15 a.m. Sunday by a resident who heard a gunshot, looked outside and saw a male laying in the street. Officers arrived to find the male with a gunshot wound to the chest. The male victim died at the scene. He was identified as David Lucio Tafoya, 44, of Pueblo, according to Pueblo County Coroner Brian Cotter. Next of kin have been notified.

Pueblo West woman dies in two-vehicle crash on U S 50

CSP said the crash happened on U.S. 50 at Swallows Road in Pueblo West. Lisel Weidenborner was pronounced dead at the scene. She was 39, according to Pueblo County Coroner Brian Cotter. The patrol said a 2008 Chrysler Town & Country driven by Weidenborner was turning westbound from the highway onto Swallows Road and pulled out in front of a 2009 Ford F-350 traveling east. The F-350 crashed into the side of the Chrysler, causing both vehicles to go off the highway s eastbound shoulder.
