The Pullman Chamber of Commerce canceled the National Lentil Festival because of uncertainty around COVID-19 restrictions. The lentil festival is typically held the weekend before the start of classes at WSU, said Francis Benjamin, WSU’s Department of Psychology information systems coordinator. The lentil festival was canceled last year because of COVID-19 as well, Benjamin said. This year, the festival was canceled because Gov. There will be a 4th of July fireworks display in Pullman this year. Officials are expecting the show to be shot off from its traditional location in Sunnyside Park. There will not be any events associated with this year’s display like live music and community barbecue. The Pullman Chamber of Commerce is accepting donations to help pay for the fireworks.
