Lahore March 9, 2021 LAHORE:Speakers at an international conference held in connection with the International Women’s Day Monday stressed the need to empower and educate women saying women’s role in all segments of society was essential for development of Pakistan. They were addressing a two-day moot “Contemporary Gender Issues: Challenges and Opportunities” organised by Punjab University Department of Gender Studies. Educational institutions to have career counselling centres: minister - Newspaper

LAHORE: Punjab Minister for Higher Education and Information Technology Raja Yasir Humayun says career counselling centres will be set up in educational institutions to guide the students. A web portal will also be launched to help the students. He was giving an interview to the FM radio and web TV of the Lahore College for Women University. The minister also visited the Department of Mass Communication. LCWU Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Bushra Mirza and Department Chairperson Dr Anjum Zia briefed the minister on the equipment, studios and laboratories set up in the department. The VC said in his briefing that during Covid-19, the Lahore College for Women University continued teaching with the help of the Learning Management System.
