Georgia's FY 2022 education budget sends $10.2 billion to K-12 public schools, maintaining a budget cut of $383 million. The state budget for K-12 public schools is $10.7 billion in FY 2023.

Following widespread public attention to the condition of DeKalb County School District facilities, and intervention from the Georgia Department of Education, the district has significantly increased spending on maintenance and operations.
