The Minnesota House of Representatives has formed its first-ever Queer Caucus.

The caucus says its priorities for 2023 include health care access, equity and protection from violence and discrimination.

The Queer Caucus was formed in the aftermath of 2022's midterm elections, in which Minnesotans elected the state's most diverse legislative body in its history.

The U.S. Department of Education is opening an investigation into the law school at the University of California, Berkeley over an 'antisemitic' pledge that several student organizations made.

The federal government will be looking into whether UC Berkeley met its responsibility to protect the civil rights of Jewish students after some affinity groups at the law school pledged to bar outside speakers who support Zionism.

An anti-Zionist bylaw enacted by student groups at the university violates Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, say the attorneys whose complaint sparked the inquiry.

The bylaw represents “profound and deep-seated antisemitic discrimination” against Jewish students, faculty and staff at UC Berkeley Law School, according to the complaint.
