Doctors bust scary aura around 'shock treatment'
ECT, also known as ‘shock treatment,’ is one of the earliest medical treatments to be highly effective for severe psychiatric illnesses. Nimhans has been treating patients with ECT services for 75 years now. However, health professionals say this procedure carries stigma and rejection, similar to many aspects of psychiatric illnesses.
