welcome back. the taliban are trying to establish themselves as afghanistan s legitimate leaders. the group s co-founder and political chief, mullah baradar. a spokesman told cnn last week the group wanted to form a quote inclusive administration. although, afghans inside the country and leaders outside are deeply skeptical how inclusive. a former senior adviser to the chairman of the joint chiefs of staff. he is author of the terrific new book the american war in afghanistan a history he joins me now from los angeles. thanks for doing so. so, these talks being held between the taliban, former-president karzai, on setting up a new government. what shape might such a government take? and what chance it would represent meaningfully the interests of the afghan people?
