Ohio University Racine vaccination clinic canceled for today RACINE The mobile vaccine clinic scheduled for today in Racine has been canceled due to the pause in the Johnson and Johnson COVID-19 vaccine recommended by the CDC and FDA. “With the CDC and FDA recommended pause of the Johnson and Johnson the vaccine the scheduled Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine’s Community Health Program clinic at the Racine Methodist Church today, April 13, 2021, will be canceled,” stated a news release from the Meigs County Health Department on Tuesday morning. Ohio University has relayed to the Meigs County Health Department they will be in contact with the Ohio Department of Health about future clinics and as soon as information is available it will be released to the public.

Marietta Law Director Paul Bertram confirmed Monday the department remains under investigation by both city administrations and by the (Ohio) State Employee Relations Board for the removal of former Director of Nursing Vickie Sawyer, which followed the exit in 2020 of Director of Nursing Beth Casto and the resignation this year of Health Commissioner Anne Goon.

Snaking around the Wayne Street medical campus, close to the Ohio River, more than 1,400 individuals in their vehicles were vaccinated Saturday in Marietta’s first mass-vaccination clinic with the Johnson and Johnson single-dose innoculation from coronavirus. At the entrance to the campus, across the street from Memorial Health System’s laboratory where many get their bloodwork done, greeters welcomed those with appointments and filed them into the two lanes, wrapping around the hillside parking lot.
