Man (30s) hospitalised after stabbing in Co. Kildare

A man has been hospitalised after being stabbed in county Kildare.
The victim in his 30s was found with stab wounds on Thomas Street in Newbridge at around 7.30pm last night.
He was taken to St James’ Hospital in Dublin where his condition is believed to be serious, but stable.
Shortly after the incident another man, also in his 30s was arrested in the Newbridge area, and has been taken to Newbridge Garda Station.
The scene was preserved for examinations this morning.

Drop in new car registrations in January

Just over 25 thousand new cars were bought and registered last month, a drop of almost 18 per cent on January 2019.
Sales of electric cars did improve slightly, with 980 driven out of show rooms in the first few weeks of the year.
Used car imports saw a 3 per cent rise in January when compared with the same month last year.
Diesel remains Ireland’s most popular engine type, accounting for close to 36 per cent of sales, followed by petrol with almost 35 per cent.
