The town has been awarded Plastic Free Communities Status by marine conservation charity Surfers Against Sewage. Campaign group Ringwood Actions for Climate Emergency (RACE) has got 26 local businesses to sign up to the project - but needs more to help reduce waste. “Each of the 26 businesses or organisations signed up has eliminated at least three items of single use plastic, and is working to eliminate others,” said Lindsay Andrews, who is leading on the project. “But we have set ourselves a target of 50 businesses and organisations.
