DHAKA, June 28 At least seven people were killed and another 50 people were injured after a powerful explosion ripped apart a three-storey building in central Dhaka on Sunday, Bangladeshi officials said, citing a gas pipeline as the likely cause.
Police said the explosion was so forceful that it broke the windows of at least four moving buses, injuring dozens of passengers on board.

A Dhaka court sent to jail acting ameer of banned militant outfit Jama’atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) Rezaul Haque alias Reza alias Tanvir Mahmud alias Shihab Ahnaf.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Asheq Imam passed the order as police produced the accused before the court after end of his seven-day remand in a case lodged under anti-terror act.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Moinul Islam on April 11 had placed the militant leader on seven-day remand in the case.
Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) arrested Rezaul from the capital’s Badda area on April 10 and filed the case with Bhatara Police Station.
