Monsoon has hit most of India, with the IMD issuing orange and yellow alerts. Heavy rain has caused flooding in Himachal Pradesh and disrupted normal life in Mumbai and Kolkata. The weather office has forecast rain and thunderstorms in various parts of the country over the next few days.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a Yellow Alert for the Northeast, predicting extensive rainfall until May 21.

The IMD forecast said that there will be no significant change in maximum temperatures during the next 24 hours in northwest India.
