Vadodara: A six-foot-long crocodile from Vishwamitri River which had ventured into a storm water drain in Tulsiwadi area was rescued late on Saturday night. The reptile had been scaring the locals over the past few days. Volunteers of Gujarat Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (GSPCA) kept a cage near the drain and rescued the crocodile.
Raj Bhavsar of GSPCA said that the drain is home to a couple of more crocodiles including an adult one. “Some days ago, a girl had spotted the reptiles that have been hunting stray dogs in the area. She alerted the neighbours who rushed to the spot. The locals then approached the area councillor requesting for help. The forest department and GSPCA were then called to the spot,” Bhavsar said.
