SRINAGAR: A day after a lieutenant colonel shot himself dead with his service weapon at the Khonmoh depot on the outskirts of Srinagar, an Army jawan allegedly committed suicide by hanging at the military headquarters in the city on Thursday. Official sources said Anoop Kumar of 105 BN (TA) Raj Riffle committed suicide near the JCO Point in Badamibagh Cantonment. A probe has been launched to ascertain the reason behind the jawan taking his own life. On Wednesday, Col Sudeep Bhagat had shot himself and was declared dead in the army hospital. The reason behind his suicide is also being ascertained.

Official sources told the news agency KNO that an army man identified as Anoop Kumar of 105 BN (TA) Raj Riffle committed suicide by hanging himself near JCO point BB Cant Srinagar. They further said that investigation has been started to ascertain the reasons behind taking this extreme step.
