Four passengers were killed and 70 others injured when six coaches of the Delhi-Kamakhya North East Express derailed in Bihar s Buxar district. The accident occurred at 9:53 pm, with two AC III Tier coaches toppling over and four other coaches jumping the tracks. The injured have been shifted to local hospitals, with serious cases being rushed to AIIMS in Patna. Rescue operations have been completed, and the cause of the derailment is under investigation.
The 23-coach 12506 North East Express had departed the Anand Vihar terminal in Delhi at 7:40 am on Wednesday for its nearly 33-hour journey to Kamakhya, about six kilometres away from Guwahati.
Six coaches of the North East Express, which was travelling from Delhi to Kamakhya, went off the tracks near Raghunathpur station in Buxar district of Bihar.
