Tata Motors recently filed a police complaint after alleged
land sharks grabbed his 2,800-sq-ft plot in Baner that he had bought 30 years ago. This highlights how the land mafia allegedly working hand-in-glove with some in power are grabbing vacant land and inflating prices in upscale areas of Baner, Balewadi and Bavdhan.
Senior citizen Suchendra Anant Kulkarni (64) of Kothrud has filed an FIR against Sukhdeo Bhimashankar Bhise of Thergaon and his two accomplices. The Chatushrungi police, who are investigating the case, have arrested Bhise. Kulkarni discovered the alleged land-grabbing when Bhise and his men removed the existing name-board and erected another on their own name. This was noticed by the owner of the neighbouring plot, Balkrushna Desai, who informed him.
