Gail Borden Public Library District will triple the amount of space available at its South Elgin Branch using $2.4 million in federal funds recently secured by U.S. Rep. Raja Krishnamoorthi, officials said.

The "Pirate Island Educational Exhibit" is sailing into the Gail Borden Public Library in Elgin, starting Friday, Oct. 7. It is a fantasy world of Pirate adventure brought to life with interactive games, stories and STEM activities that include navigation, compass and pulleys.
