As part of THAW FEST, the Hamptons Arts Network’s (HAN) series of March offerings by its 21 member arts institutions, Hamptons Doc Fest will be presenting the documentary “Acasa, My Home,” for five days, from Thursday, March 11 to Monday, March 15.
Set in Bucharest, Romania, “Acasa, My Home” (2020, 86 min.), directed by Radu Ciorniciuc, tells the story of a family of two adults and nine children that is moved from a life of harmony with nature, living an unconventional life in a humble dwelling in the wilds of the Vacaresti Delta, to a city apartment with the conveniences of a bathroom and washing machine, so that the land and its rare flora and fauna can be made into Vacaresti Nature Park, and the children can be enrolled in school. The move requires many adjustments for the family.
