The inauguration of the Ram temple has unlocked significant potential in Ayodhyas economy, attracting close to a lakh devotees daily. While thousands of shopkeepers benefit from increased business selling religious merchandise, garments, and snacks, they also harbor resentment towards the government for alleged shortchanges during infrastructure development.

Despite appeals by the Prime Minister and the temple trust, many devotees landed in Ayodhya to mark the occasion of Pran Pratishtha. The devotees stood on pavements to watch the VVIP guests in their luxury cars. Many travelled from far-off places to take part in the celebrations in Ayodhya.

A group of 111 devotees from an old shrine in Bhopal took out the palki yatra from the Baba Nageshwar Nath temple to the Ram Path, passing by the Ram ki Paidi.

It was the Ayodhya dispute, especially the chain of events in the last century, that returned the spotlight to Faizabad.

Ayodhya is bustling with religious fervour as thousands, including foreign devotees, have congregated in the temple town to attend the consecration ceremony, which will mark the culmination of rituals to inaugurate the temple.

The UP government expects at least 100,000 pilgrims every day after the January 22 ceremony and estimates that at least 20 million people will arrive in Ayodhya in the next six months to offer their prayers at the newly built Ram temple. The chief minister on Friday reviewed the preparedness of the administrative machinery so that the crowds are managed in an orderly fashion.

Orchestrated by Ayodhya's celebrated poet Yatindra Mishra, the grand musical rendition has been supported by the Sangeet Natak Akademi, New Delhi.
