Ranchi: ED conducts raids at multiple locations in Ranchi. A huge amount of cash amounting to more than Rs 25 crore was recovered from the household help of Sanjiv Lal, PS to Jharkhand Rural Development Minister Alamgir Alam in the Virendra Ram case.

Enforcement Directorate recovered unaccounted cash in searches related to a state ministers aide. The cash, depicted in video footage, is being counted to determine the exact amount in a money laundering case involving the arrest of former chief engineer Virendra K Ram.

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Monday raided the premises of an individual linked to Jharkhand Rural Development Minister Alamgir Alam. The raids were held in connection with the Virendra Ram case.

The Jharkhand Rural Development Departments head engineer, Virendra K. Ram, was detained by the ED in February 2023 on suspicion of money laundering related to anomalies in the execution of some projects.

A huge amount of cash, estimated to be Rs 20 to 30 crore, was recovered from the house help of Sanjiv Lal, Personal Secretary to Jharkhand Rural Development minister Alamgir Alam. The cash haul is expected to be more as cash machines are being deployed to continue counting.
