Sea bass fishing is better in deeper water, tuna continue to take live bait and jigs south of Block, and bonito begin to show up in greater numbers.

Bluefin of all sizes are taking jigs while yellowfin crush poppers, cow stripers hit eels and tubes at Block Island, and fluke fishing improves after gusty conditions.

Sand eels fuel striper blitzes out front, sea bass and scup are caught in abundance and local fluke fishing improves as they feed on sand eels and squid.

Good sized bluefish are around in numbers, scup and tautog are biting well on bottom, and night shift surfcasters find over-slot stripers from the rocks.

Striped bass from 30 inches to 30 pounds hit swimming plugs and topwaters in Naragansett Bay, tautog fishing steadily improved, and squidding is hit or miss.

Rhode Island Fishing Report – July 22, 2021 Rhode Island Fishing Report The Frances Fleet in Point Judith reported an improvement in the full day fluke trips this week, with a few limit catches and pool fish coming in around 7-8-pounds. The sea bass fishing on the full day trips has also been good, with most anglers getting easy limits.
