Four persons were held by the Raigad Police in Maharashtra in connection with rape of a 48-year-old woman and extortion

A Colfax man again has been sentenced to prison, this time for 25 years on rape and kidnapping charges.

Based on the teenager’s complaint, the police on Tuesday lodged a case of gang rape under sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and detained the four accused, the ASP said.

Sirohi Deputy SP Paras Choudhary told The Indian Express that the case against the two had been sent last year to the women’s police station for investigation, and that they had found the allegations to be false.

The Police had earlier said the allegations against the constable were linked to a criminal case in which a team of officials had gone to arrest certain accused. The complainant was an employee of one of the accused.
