In a major breakthrough to the alleged rape of a seven-year-old girl in Jaipurs Shastri Nagar area, the accused, said to be a habitual offender, has been arrested from Kota yesterday.

According to the police, on Thursday evening the Mumbai police control room received a call from the locals informing them about the decomposed body of a woman found on the terrace. The dead body was found on the terrace of an 13 storey vacant building i.e C-wing, building number 16, HDIL colony in Kurla west.

The victim alleged that after discovering about his marriage she reached the house of the man in the World Bank Colony area but he and his wife beat her up.

Of the fine amount, Judge HC Shende directed that Rs. 20,000 be paid to the victim as compensation. In default of paying the fine amount, the court has ordered that the man undergo an additional two years of rigorous imprisonment.
