year-old man who had been shot in the shoulder. they reported hearing the shots that rang out at 11:30 last night. a definite police presence out here and we were told they'll be here for many years. they're tight lipid about this case. this was some type of home invasion gone wrong. police will not confirm that at this point. we noticed some shell cases outside the home here that was apparently targeted. it's unclear if someone tried to break into the house. a shootout broke into the street. but, investigators say it's not random. >> we don't fear that there's any risk to any additional people at this time. >> reporter: we do know that a man suffering several gunshot wounds walked into a hospital in san jose and later died. police will not say if that is connected to the shooting. they will say they're not looking for any out standing suspects at this time. they do not want to jeopardize the case. they're releasing very few details of the victim who was shot in the shoulder. the injuries are nonlife- threatening. we're supposed to receive an update from police at 7:00 this morning. also this morning, police in oakland are investigating the tragic death of a two-year- old boy in a traffic accident. it happened late yesterday afternoon, right next to interstate 880. the boy was run over and killed in a parking lot while his mother sold fruit at a nearby stand. witnesses say the driver of the pickup truck was a fruit store customer who never saw the little boy. >> our investigators are speaking with him. we're trying to put together the details that led up to this unfortunate accident. this appears to be just a tragic accident where a young boy lost his life. >> family members identified the two-year-old boy as raphael perez, the family has been operating the truck for ten years. petaluma police are trying to find the gunman and his intended victim. officers received a report of someone shooting at a car at petaluma boulevard south and mountain view avenue near highway 101. witness the say a man walked up to a silver pontiac and pounded the window. the pontiac fled and that's when the shooter fired. president obama will attend the g20 economic summit. this is him arriving at st. petersburg an hour ago. he will try to get the leaders to support his call on a military strike in syria. now, the senate foreign relations committee passed a resolution authorizing force in syria. it limits the duration to 60 days with one 30-day extension possible. it prohibits the use of american ground troops. nancy pelosi says she believes it's important for the u.s. to respond to the use of chemical weapons. this is not going to war, it's about not ignoring the use of chemical weapons with a strategic strike. >> people opposed to an u.s. military strike on
