Over the past two months, Adams has pointed to rapper C Blu as a case study of why the state’s bail laws must change. He wants Albany lawmakers to add a provision in which judges have the ability to factor in a defendant’s “dangerousness.” But they’ve repeatedly pushed back on his demand, and on Tuesday, Bronx Supreme Court Justice Naita Semaj called the arresting officer’s testimony in the case “incredible and unreliable.”

Rapper C Blu caught a break in the legal system after a judge recommended the 16-year-old be tried in family court rather than adult court for allegedly shooting a New York City police officer. 

A Bronx judge slammed cops as she moved the case of a teen rapper accused of shooting a police officer during a Bronx kerfuffle to family court Tuesday, calling one arresting officer’s testimony “incredible and unreliable.”
