Russia Establishes Consortium to Develop New-Gen Nuclear Energy Tech Our Bureau 2464

A consortium consisting of nine Russian research centers and universities has been created to develop new generation nuclear power technologies.
Projects to be undertaken by the consortium includes developing nuclear fuel cycle facilities, fast reactors, new materials for energy technologies of the future and innovative nuclear power plant projects.
The consortium will focus, among other things, on the development of new materials for 4th generation nuclear reactors and thermonuclear reactor DEMO, on expanding the bases of experimental data used in modelling physical processes in nuclear power plants and on developing and using digital economy instruments, the press-service of the consortium’s initiator, National Nuclear Research University MIFI said on Wednesday.
