Army chief General Aziz Ahmed returns home from USA

Chief of Army Staff (CAS) General Aziz Ahmed has returned home on Friday morning upon completion of his official trip to the United States.
Army chief reached Bangladesh at 10:00am on Friday, according to a press release of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Directorate.
General Aziz had left country for the United States on 29 January, in response to an invitation by Chief of Staff of the U.S. Army.
During the visit, he met senior officers of the US Army and visited various military installations and training facilities. He also met different important personalities related to UN peacekeeping mission.

A probe body of Jatiya Muktijoddha Council will meet soon to look into the legal aspects of revoking gallantry awards given to late president Ziaur Rahman and killers of Bangabandhu and their patronisers.
The council at a meeting on Tuesday decided in principle to revoke the gallantry awards of Zia and self-declared four killers of Bangabandhu - Shariful Haq Dalim, Nur Chowdhury, Rashed Chowdhury, and Mosleh Uddin.
Zia, the four others, and their families would not get any state facilities for their role in the country s Liberation War, the council decided.

Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen has invited new US Secretary of State Antony John Blinken to visit Bangladesh and attend the celebrations of the Birth Centenary of the Father of the Nation and the Golden Jubilee of the country s independence.
