Extension of early bird scheme: GHMC hopeful of achieving property tax collection target By News Desk|   Edited by Neha  |   Updated: 10th May 2021 10:49 pm IST GHMC office By Ratna Chotrani Hyderabad: The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has extended the early bird scheme offer as it failed to achieve its target collections under property tax due to the prevailing COVID situation. Property tax is the prime source of revenue for GHMC. The revenue collections are used for developmental works in the city. Following the extension of the scheme by one month it is now hopeful that the corporation will achieve the targeted collection.

However, the country has to be prepared. Speaking to Siasat Dr. Rakesh Mishra Director CCMB said that the third wave is inevitable but if India has learned lessons from the current wave and if people behave properly in terms of masking, social behavior, sanitizations and staying indoors, if having no work outside, then India can overcome the same.

The state government has issued orders instructing financial institutions not to insist on a signed building plan copy for processing loans for individual residential plots upto 500 square metres of area. The institutions can verify the post verification status of the application by scanning the QR code printed on the registration certificate or building permit order.

Telangana governor holds review meet on preparedness of reopening colleges By News Desk|   Published: 29th January 2021 9:02 pm IST Ratna Chotrani Hyderabad: Telangana governor Dr Tamilisai Soundararajan today called upon vice-chancellors and the registrars of universities in the state to follow the standard operating procedures (SOP) to ensure the safety of the students while reopening of the campuses from February 1. She emphasized on taking care of students’ health, safety, psychological, and nutritional aspects during the resumption of physical classes. The governor held a virtual review meeting with vice-chancellors and registrars on the preparedness of the universities in reopening the colleges with all the safety norms amid the prevailing pandemic conditions. She said that owing to the effective containment of the pandemic by the Central and state governments and the roll out of the vaccine, the colleges are being reopened.
