Apr 13, 2021 Pennsylvania Acting Health Secretary Alison Beam says today is a key day in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic. All Pennsylvanians 16 and older will be eligible to schedule a vaccine appointment, Beam says. That s almost a week sooner than the previously scheduled date of Monday, April 19th. The state hopes moving the eligibility date ahead will help it get to its goal of getting 80-percent of eligible adults vaccinated faster. Pennsylvania is sending mobile COVID-19 vaccine clinics to minority communities. The state is partnering with the Latino Connection and Highmark Blue Shield. Officials say in order to solve health care inequality and reach our vulnerable and underserved communities, we need to meet people where they are. Over the next few months, about 120 mobile vaccination events will take place across the state with educational materials given out to battle vaccine hesitancy.
