Irvine man who impersonated police faces theft and fraud charges

AN IRVINE man faces charges of impersonating a police officer as well as a spate of alleged thefts. David McKay, 44, was arrested and charged last month for alleged involvement in offences in the town centre. and East Road area. When he appeared in court from custody this month, McKay faced 10 charges against him, including three of theft, four counts of fraud – one via credit/debid card – and one of attempted fraud. He also faced a charge of impersonating a police officer and one of allegedly attempting to defeat the ends of justice. McKay entered no plea to the allegations when he appeared in private on April 6 and was fully committed.

Irvine man charged after allegedly stealing from cars

A man in his fifties was charged by police after a spate of thefts from cars in Irvine. Police arrested and charged a 51-year-old Irvine man in relation to a number of thefts from vehicles in the Bourtreehill area on Thursday, April 8. It s alleged the man was responsible for 12 offences between the April 6 and April 8, included theft from a motor vehicle, attempted theft from a motor vehicle and being in a place where it can be inferred that he was there to commit theft. He has also been charged with being in possession of controlled drugs. Irvine Crime: Pensioner scares of would-be thief from East Road home

A COWARDLY would-be thief ran off into the night after they were scared off by a brave Irvine woman in her seventies. The assailant struck last week at the home of a woman aged 75 in Irvine’s East Road last week in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
