Now is the time to turn this around by passing legislation that renews the Child Tax Credit and that deals with the housing crisis.

It passed a resolution on Feb. 4 saying that the deadly physical attack on the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, inspired by the lies and delusional rants of ex-President Donald Trump, was “legitimate political discourse.”

It is true the people are not getting what has been continually promised.

This is a letter to add on to what Brenda Gardner said in their letter titled “Wages frustrate workers” (Our Readers’ Views, Feb. 3), in response to Mike Ryland’s letter titled “Work ethic is a thing of the past” (Jan. 26).

Apparently, the city decided it was not a safety issue, but if something had gone wrong, it would have been a huge problem.
