Groups in Reading have expressed “huge disappointment” after a mural by street artist Banksy on the side of a former prison was defaced with red paint. The artwork, entitled Create Escape, appeared on the red brick wall of Reading Prison on March 1 and showed an inmate escaping lockdown using a knotted spool of paper from a typewriter. The feud between King Robbo and Banksy reportedly dates back to 1990s. King Robbo claims to have met Banksy in a pub in Old Street, London. The artists says he slapped Banksy after Banksy claimed to have never heard of him. In 2009, a piece of graffiti art painted by a 15-year-old King Robbo in 1985 was destroyed by Banksy who replaced it with a stencil of a workman pasting wallpaper.
