SAFM has announced its Reclaim the Run event will return on Thursday 29 July 2021, with a focus on violence against women.

SAFM’s Reclaim the Run event is set to return on Thursday 29 July with a broader focus on violence against women in our streets, homes, and workplaces. The first Reclaim the Run held in 2019 saw 2000 people choose to stand up for women’s safety by running together through Adelaide’s Elder Park.
Sadly, the statistics are still alarming. In 2019, 58 women were killed by violence in Australia, 55 in 2020, and as of 5 July, 21 women have been killed by violence in Australia .

The Hit Network’s SAFM in Adelaide has revived its Reclaim The Run event, this time with a broader focus on violence against women which takes place on the streets, in people’s homes and at their workplaces.
The first event in 2019 was about reclaiming women’s safety on the streets, and saw 2,000 people running together through Adelaide’s Elder Park.
SAFM said “our friends, wives, sisters, mums and daughters deserve to feel safe”.
This year’s event will take place at Elder Park on July 29, but from today, the station’s Breakfast show
