The Marine Corps received its first trailer- and vehicle-mounted 5G systems Thursday, marking the first step in the service's advancement toward what Lockheed Martin calls "near real-time" communication.
The delivery to Camp Pendleton in California marks a step forward for the Open Systems Interoperable and Reconfigurable Infrastructure Solution, or OSIRIS.
ANNAPOLIS JUNCTION, Md., August, 31. 2023 - Lockheed Martin delivered the final Phase 1 Initial Prototype 5G testbed variant for the Open Systems Interoperable and Reconfigurable.
The testbed will ultimately support the Marines’s “Expeditionary Advanced Base Operations (EABO) goals, which involve Marines operating in contested environments with increased bandwidth requirements,” according to Lockheed Martin.
