conversation about a bipartisan approach. we know that obamacare is broken, they are trying to fix it. democrats didn t want to come to the table. they want to obstruct, resist and do everything they can for the public end. that s why this election has allotted stake because we need more of a lukens in congress in order to pass legislation to help fix some of these problems trying to placate a progressive mod. harris: great to see you, thank you very much. all eyes on those voter turnout, we are focused on it. midterm voters tend to be older, caucasian, wealthier, and better educated but a new online poll from harvard finds young people plan the vote near historic highs. that s why i bring up that topic and now the other side of the political aisle. the house democrats recruitment
nrcc, the national republican congressional committee, they have specifically recruitment efforts to recruit solid candidates like we see in minnesota and across the country. they have one-third more women running for office than they did back in 2016, because they do see this can be a critical year. unfortunately, the president s approval ratings amongst women in the cnn poll this week, women view approval about 35% and disapprove by two-thirds of that. so that s the challenge. the challenge is to stand by the policies. if you have to, if the president is not popular in those districts, then you have to separate yourself. just really quickly, the challenge also with women, college-educated women and women in suburbs, is going to be turnout and who is going to go where. what we saw in ohio 12, in that district, which was solidly republican, that the president
concerned about being attacked over this. bannon has tried to take credit for a lot of things that have happened in the republican party, that he was just a bystander at. roy moore is going to win that primary in alabama no matter what steve bannon did. it was about the unpopularity of mitch mcconnell, about the damage that existed on luther strange, the incumbent-appointed senator there. bannon shows up at the end and tries to ak like he s the guy who made this happen. we ll see what happens in the general election with that race. we re seeing with some of his other recruitment efforts in wyoming and other places, it s not clear he s having success recruiting challengers. interesting he s here with an incumbent member saying send this member back to congress. zeldin is an interesting case when you look at what the republicans are doing on the hill, jared, and you brought it up. the tax plan and the question about whether it is, as many of them say, this is a good deal for the middle
u.s. soldier and will it be not that difficult for u.s. intelligence and maybe in cooperation with other intelligence forces to get to the bottom of this? i agree, i think ut would be very easy to find that out. but there s so much propaganda coming out of these terrorist groups, you denon t know what t believe anymore. what s evident from this videotape is that is young man, whether his national origin is an american or syrian or wherever his family comes from, who s been spoon-fed this hateful ideology that americans are bad, that they are going to win this war and they re going to kill americans. i m sure that you heard the president speaking yesterday about the islamic state s online recruitment efforts pip just want to play a little bit of that, congressman. we are stripping terrorists of their territory at record clip. their funding, their networks, and the false allure of their ideology and i will tell you, we re going to start working very hard on the internet.
of central casting that can win and that s why you should run. that s something to look for. democrats are hoping this won t just make them feel better. it s going to benefit their recruitment efforts as they try to build a team that can take the majority. i m glad you talked about military. a seth moulton. if seth moulton were running in this district, this isn t just about being from this district. what if a guy like seth moulton were running, somebody with a background like that i don t disagree with this conversation. they d be up by two points right now. bob, you want to chime in? joe, to build on that point, think about when the democrats took back the house in from 20 6 2006. they did it with veterans. here s the challenge for democrats. in 2010 democrats were wiped out not only of the u.s. house but
