Lawsuit alleges Phoenix police colluded with Maricopa County Attorney s Office to target protesters Chelsea Curtis, Arizona Republic © Chelsea Curtis/The Republic Keisha Acton, a member of Black Lives Matter Phoenix Metro, spoke during a news conference on July 13, 2021, where attorneys announced a lawsuit was being filed against Maricopa County and Phoenix. Twenty protesters arrested during demonstrations in Phoenix last year were filing a lawsuit against Maricopa County and Phoenix, their attorneys announced on Tuesday.  It alleges that the Maricopa County Attorney s Office colluded with the Phoenix Police Department to surveil, target, unlawfully arrest and maliciously prosecute the protesters in an effort to suppress criticism of law enforcement, according to a copy of the complaint shared with The Arizona Republic.

The Holland-based chamber will feature Ed Amaya, president of Kenowa Industries, and Brett VanderKamp, CEO of New Holland Brewing Co., for the April installment of the virtual Wake Up West Coast Coffee Break series, “The Secret Sauce of Employee Retention,” which was held 10-10:45 a.m. Tuesday. “In a time when attracting talent is a challenge in many industries across the board, developing a culture and work environment where employees want to stay for the long term is a key strategy in retaining talent,” the chamber said. “The April Wake Up West Coast Coffee Break features a conversation with leaders of two local businesses known for thriving workplace cultures. They will discuss their top tips for keeping their teams motivated and their turnover rates low.”
