It’s not too late to move or divide perennials, including hosta and daylilies.
The best time is when they first emerge from the ground in the spring. That way you have a better looking plant the first year before the leaves unfurl.
You can still do it without harm but you might forfeit perfect leaves on all sides of the hosta this year. You can tell when a perennial needs to be divided flower production will decrease and sometimes the center of the plant will die.
