The Tavern and Ruttger's recently earned awards for the best bloody mary at the Bemidji Symphony Orchestra's first "Bloody Mary Battle" fundraiser. Fozzie's Smokin Bar-B-Q earned best skewer.
The BSO will hold a "Bloody Mary Battle" fundraiser from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 28 at the Rail River Folk School, 303 Railroad St. SW. Early bird tickets are on sale until Jan. 15.

Bemidjians can now hold their heads a little higher, as the first city on the Mississippi was listed in Smithsonian Magazine's “The 15 Best Small Towns to Visit in 2022.”
