He passed away on Tuesday night surrounded by family at his home in Los Angeles. His bold comedies, including All In The Family and Maude, have been credited with defining prime-time television in the 1970s.

Norman Lear was best known for his 1970s sitcoms including “All in the Family,” “Sandford and Son,” “One Day at a Time,” The Jeffersons” and “Good Times.”

Lear also produced ‘The Jeffersons’ and ‘Good Times.’

Lear made All In The Family, the hit US version of classic British sitcom Till Death Us Do Part.
